Counseling Resources
The UCISD Family & Student Counselors provide support and services for students and their families, creating a true connection between home life, school life, and community life. The FSSC’s are Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Professional Counselor-Associates, or Social Workers, licensed by their respective state boards. They offer brief, short-term counseling on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, as determined by exhibited need, during non-academic time.
The Family & Student Counselors are knowledgeable regarding available community resources and can connect families with organizations that may benefit those with specific needs. The FSSC also provides families with information from the district, community agencies, city and state institutions, and any other organizations that might benefit those with specific needs. Family & Student Counselors help students and families reach maximum educational benefits and assist those who are experiencing emotional challenges.

Student-Centered Supports
Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT) partnership - a division of the UT Health System, will allow for any student who does not have access to counseling or psychiatric services to receive these services via their iPad, phone, computer, etc.
Rithm App - This app will give students a daily check-in tool on their school iPad, allowing them to reflect on how they are feeling. Based on their answers, each student will have access to short activities or videos to get them ready to learn. The Rithm App allows campus leaders to get a unique pulse on campus culture and climate.
Communities in Schools - A partnership with Communities in Schools (CIS) will allow for additional behavioral health support for UCISD students. CIS staff will be embedded on campuses throughout the district.

Tiered Systems of Student Support
Uvalde CISD offers a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) to integrate levels of academic and behavior support for the promotion of student success. The ultimate goal of an MTSS framework is to provide high-quality instruction and the specific support each student needs to be successful at school. For additional information on UCISDs MTSS model, please contact your child's school counselor.
